Usage Policy
Rainbows Network Internet Information & Policies
Rainbows Network is a company in good standing within the
community and we want to remain that way. We want all of our users
to be held in the same regard. Rainbows Network sets up some
policies against SPAM. Please refer to
www.sendmail.org
for a full definition of Internet SPAM.
You will receive a 1st letter of warning from our
administration office for the first time sending out SPAM. The 2nd
time, your account will be suspended for one month. The 3rd
time, we will close your account without any refund. The same action
will be taken regardless of whether the SPAM offense is unintentional or pre-meditated.
Your log in name and password are confidential under Rainbows.net.
One user name and password will be used per account. It is your responsibility
to protect your account. If you hand out your password to someone else,
you will be fully liable for whatever other people do using your account.
If you feel that your password has slipped out for any reason, you can change
your password any time in order to protect your account.
Rainbows.Net reserves the right to make changes to these
policies at any time.
Rainbows.net Acceptable Use Policy
Rainbows.net is committed to providing a safe and
hassle-free Internet environment. With this in
mind, we have composed this Acceptable Use Policy.
The Rainbows.net Acceptable Use Policy has been created
with the following goals in mind:
- To ensure the security, reliability and privacy of Rainbows.net's
systems and network, and the systems and networks of others.
- To avoid situations that may cause Rainbows.net to incur civil liability.
- To maintain the image and reputation of Rainbows.net as a responsible Internet service
provider and company.
- To preserve the value of Internet resources as a medium for free expression.
- To encourage the responsible use of Internet resources.
- To preserve the privacy and security of individual users.
The Acceptable Use Policy below defines the actions which Rainbows.net considers
to be abusive, and thus, strictly prohibited. Rainbows.net may terminate or modify
service immediately and may bill for any resulting support charges if the
client engages in system abuse. The examples named in this
list are non-exclusive, and are provided solely for guidance to Rainbows.net customers.
If you are unsure whether any contemplated use or action is permitted,
please send mail to info@rainbows.net and we will assist you.
Actions which constitute system abuse include, but are not limited to:
- Attempting to circumvent user authentication or security of any host,
network, or account on Rainbows.net's systems or the Internet at large ("cracking").
- Attempting, in any way, to interfere with or deny service to any user or
any host on the Internet.
- Forging email or USENET posting header information.
- Sending large numbers of unsolicited mail messages (i.e. "junk mail" or SPAM);
this includes adding or attempting to add addresses to any mailing list without
explicit positive consent of the addressee.
- Forwarding or posting "chain letters" (multiple forwarding) of any type.
- Posting inappropriate messages to USENET newsgroups e.g., posting large numbers
of unsolicited posts indiscriminately ("spamming"), or posting encoded binary
files to USENET newsgroups not specifically named for that purpose.
- Attempting to cancel, supersede, or otherwise interfere with email or USENET
posts other than one's own.
- Engaging in harassment, whether through language, frequency, or size of messages.
- Using an account at another provider or at Rainbows.net to promote Rainbows.net's Web site in an abusive manner.
- Using a Rainbows.net account or network connection to collect replies to messages
sent from another provider which violate these rules or those of that provider.
- Using a Rainbows.net account connection simultaneously on two or more computers.
Customers are prohibited from transmitting on or through any of Rainbow.net's
services, any material that is, in Rainbow.net's sole discretion,
unlawful, obscene, threatening, abusive, libelous, or hateful, or encourages
conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability,
or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law.
Rainbows.net services may only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission,
distribution, or storage of any information, data or material in violation
of United States or state regulation or law, or by the common law, is prohibited.
This includes, but is not limited to, material protected by copyright, trademark,
trade secret, or any other statute. Rainbows.net reserves the right to remove such
illegal material from its servers.
