Connecting to Rainbows.net
Make sure Dialup Networking is installed.
(If it is already installed, you may skip this step)
Step 1 - From your Desktop, click the "Start" button.
Step 2 - Select "Settings", then "Control Panel"
Step 3 - Click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
Step 4 - Select the "Windows Setup" tab at the top.
Step 5 - Doubleclick "Communications"
Step 6 - If "Dial-Up Networking" is not checked, check it.
If it is already checked then skip to the next section: Setting up a connection to Rainbows.net.
Step 7 - Click OK, then OK again.
Step 8 - You may be prompted to restart your computer. If so, then restart your computer. After your computer restarts, Dialup Networking should be set up.
Setting up a connection to Rainbows.net
Step 1 - From your Desktop, click the "Start" button.
Step 2 - Select "Settings", then "Dial-Up Networking"
Step 3 - Doubleclick on the "Make New Connection" icon.
Step 4 - Where it says Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type in "Rainbows.net"
Step 5 - Make sure your modem is selected as the device, then click Next
Step 6 - Type in the telephone number closest to your location. Find an Access Number closest to you. You need not type in the area code unless making a long distance call. Click Next
Step 7 - Type in "Rainbows.net" as the name of your connection, then click Finish
Step 8 - Drag the newly created "Rainbows.net" icon onto your desktop to create a shortcut.
Step 9 - Double-click the "Rainbows.net" icon on your desktop and enter your username and password.
Step 10 - After your modem makes a connection, you should be connected to the Internet. Open your favorite browser and start browsing.
